Andrew Graham-Dixon explores the intricate artistic splendour of Viking art in Northumberland
The Vikings are famous for their violent raids on Anglo Saxon monasteries, incredible shipbuilding skills and general brutality. Less famous, perhaps, for their artistic talents. We filmed at dawn to capture the essence the holy site of Lindisfarne. The morning light and stillness was used to create a contrast to the violent story we were telling of the Viking raids in Northumberland. Shot using a Canon C300 with a selection of Zeiss super speed lenses and lit to give a naturalistic look.
